I was just thinking this Morning as I awoke, how badly separated from God we/man must have really been and are, for it to have had been necessary for God Himself to have to come down here in the flesh to rescue us and SAVE US from our sins. Luke 19:10 - John 3:17 - Romans 5:15 - 1 John 3:5 - 1 John 4:9
And then I saw a facebook post by Clyde Morris (image featured above).
It got me thinking further, how seldom we even bother to realize how important a "save" like that was. Long before any of us would ever see Hell, Adam and Eve were separated and removed from God's fellowship. But God the Almighty, the ultimate "First Responder" instantly launched a plan to rescue and restore us back to Him Gen 3:15 and to redeem us from the curse of our ancestral fall that poisoned us and separated us all, that we might be saved.
100 years of Noah's preaching couldn't do it. 2 Pet. 2:5 The Law and the Prophets couldn't do it. Daniel 9:10 John the Baptist Matthew 3:1-3 and even all the miracles of Jesus Himself couldn't do it. John 1:11 Nothing Man could be trusted in to do could have removed our sins (adamic nature) Ephesians 2:8 - Galatians 3:11 and allowed the cup to pass from Jesus on that Garden night, from the trip through Calvary. Luke 22:42
If we saw and heard a dozen or more ambulances and police cars rushing down our street toward our house or our neighbors house surely we would be highly alerted that something seriously wrong must have happened. Our concerns, hopes and prayers would immediately leap out to wherever they were headed and/or if there was anything we could do to help.
This is how I felt and feel when I saw the image of the three crosses that Brother Clyde had posted. I realized that something serious must have happened to mankind that required God Himself to come down and go through all that was Calvary. Only because of the Gospel do I know how to hope and help the seriousness of those in the midst of this crisis and that it all starts with me! Galatians 6:3-5 - 1 John 1:9 I can accept the great sacrifice He made to rescue us and have my sins forgiven. I can turn to my neighbor, friends and family and ask them if they heard or saw or are even aware of the First Responders of the new (and old) testaments that told of our dangerous position in this temporal life and in need to be rescued back to God. Ephesians 2:12
We (American Christians), have few Holydays/Holidays that have not already been polluted with a commercial, pagan side show, that is allowed to be celebrated right alongside the original intent of the day or days. This one, Good Friday, is one of those rare days each year when we can clearly reflect and remember, that Christ alone, came and died for us. Romans 5:8 To save us and redeem us back to Himself and grant us a Free Admission back into eternity. John 3:16 - Romans 10:9-10 - 1 John 5:13
Jesus told us that only God is "GOOD" Mark 10:18 so, if that word was good-enough to describe the creator then it is surely an accurate word for the one day that we celebrate the greatest sacrifice of all. Good Friday!
Thank You Jesus!
